Marcus and Lukas are brothers and sons of filmmaker Aslaug Holm, who has filmed them for over eight years. We follow them in a picturesque and unsentimental depiction of the childhood universe and the boys’ encounter with the world and everyday life. The film takes the lid of the box of childhood memories and invites the viewer in for a melancholic retrospect of your own childhood or the upbringing of your own children.
BROTHERS has received the Amanda-award – Norway’s Oscar – for best director. In Denmark BROTHERS was shown in CPH:DOX’s main program. Danish critiques gave the film 5-starred reviews.
