A film portrait of world famous danish architect Bjarke Ingels
Bjarke Ingels who started out as a young man dreaming about becoming a cartoon artist, has been called “one of the biggest stars of architecture” by The Wall Street Journal. For a period of five years (2011-2016) BIG TIME follows Ingels, as he struggles to finish his greatest project yet. We are invited into the creative processes and the many compromises that must be made, as well as into his private life. His company Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) got the job of designing and building the replacement for one of the twin towers that was destroyed in 9/11. But while he’s in the process of creating a building that will change the New York City skyline, he faces another challenge when his health is at risk. This documentary film provides an intimate portrait of the groundbreaking and ambitious danish architect, celebrated as a genius all over the world.
