The War Show portrays the Syrian radio-host Obaidah Zytoon and her friends, when they in 2011 become part of the Arab Spring and the opposition against the regime. They are living among artists and activists and film their lives, when they start participating in demonstrations against President Assad. But as the revolution turns into a civil war, their friendship gets tested by arrests, deaths and violence.
Zytoon leaves Damaskus and travels to her hometown Zabadani, to the rebellion’s stronghold Homs and to northern Syria, where she experiences the aspiring extremism. The War Show is a personal road movie, that follows the fate of Syria and a group of friends, whose hope and dreams turns into nightmares, all the while the country fades into chaos.
